20.
Wognian and Swarg look up at the night sky pensively,
unaware of what's transpiring beyond the balcony they stand
on. Their silence is meaningful as they're mulling over
their discussion. Finally, Wognian sighs.
WOGNIAN
Let us speak no more of you
marrying Neonila unless she does so
herself.
SWARG
Fine.
WOGNIAN
Whilst truthful, you're still
forgetting yourself. We're alive
and well, dressed and fed because
we made the right choice in the
end.
SWARG
Aye. Yet there's just one
difference between us, dear friend.
You stuck to yours. I did not.
WOGNIAN
And that's why Neonila will never
have you by her side.
They leave the balcony. Swarg is muttering under his breath.
SWARG
Some things don't change, do they?
