TRAPPED
1 – EXT / STREET / EVENING
A large car glides slowly through the streets of a city,
in an upscale residential neighborhood.
On board is MONICA, a 30-year-old woman with long dark
hair and eyes marked by fatigue, a beautiful woman who
seems weighed down by grief. In the driver’s seat there’s
GIULIANO, a confident 40-year-old man with a cold,
indifferent demeanor. Giuliano stares straight ahead at
the road in silence.
Monica presses the button to lower the window. She pushes
her face gently towards the glass, feeling some of the
cold breeze that comes from outside.
MONICA
What a warm evening…
GIULIANO (distant and cold)
We do have air conditioning…
MONICA
Air conditioning isn’t good for you…
GIULIANO (his mouth half open, barely audible)
There’s always something with you…
Monica doesn’t respond to the provocation and goes back
to looking out the window at houses and buildings that
follow one another. The buildings all look the same, as
they appear to loom over the car.
They arrive at the entrance of a residential area, with
many large elegant apartment buildings. The car arrives
at a gate that closes the access to a private road.
Giuliano grabs a remote control from below the driving
wheel and presses the button. The gate opens slowly,
without making a sound.
