9 screenwriters members of the juries of the Venice Film Festival 2022
The Venice International Film Festival opened yesterday in Venice. It includes 3 official competitions with juries counting a total of 9 screenwriters:
The international jury is composed of 7 members. This year it is chaired by the actress and producer Julianne Moore and includes 4 screenwriters:
Rodrigo Sorogoyen (director and screenwriter, Que Dios nos perdone, El reino)
Audrey Diwan (director and screenwriter of The Event, screenwriter of BAC Nord, La French)
Leonardo Di Costanzo (screenwriter and director, Ariaferma, L'intrusa, L'intervallo)
Mariano Cohn (writer and director, Competencia oficial, 4x4)
This jury awards the prize for best screenplay at the Venice Film Festival
Orizzonti is composed of 5 members and is chaired this year by the director and screenwriter Isabel Coixet (My life without me), it also includes 2 other screenwriters:
Laura Bispuri (director and screenwriter, Figlia mia)
Antonio Campos (director and screenwriter, The Devil All The Time, Simon Killer, Afterschool)
It awards an Orizzonti Prize for best screenplay
The Luigi De Laurentiis Award for a first film, also called Lion of the Future, is also composed of 5 members and this year has as president the director and screenwriter Michelangelo Frammartino (Il buco, Le quattro volte)
Note that in addition to this official event, there are also the "Venice Days" or Giornate degli Autori, equivalent to the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes. This selection includes 12 films each year.
